Shipping Policy

At The Tropical Fish Company (TFC), we aim to deliver your orders promptly and safely. We ship Monday through Friday, excluding Public Holidays.

Daily cut off time frame - 11AM. Orders placed after this time frame will be dispatched the following business day, please see details below regarding dispatch days:

Live Animal & Plant Shipments
Live animals and plants are shipped Monday through Wednesday only, ensuring they are dispatched on an overnight service for quick delivery.

Shipping Costs

  • Live Fish (North Island, Non-Rural): $26.99
  • Live Fish (South Island, Non-Rural): $38.50
  • Plants & Dry Goods: $12
  • Frozen Goods (North Island, Non-Rural): $14.99
  •  Frozen Goods (South Island, Non-Rural): $22.50

Tracking Your Package
Once your order has been collected by the courier, you will receive automatic tracking details via email. This will allow you to monitor the progress of your shipment from dispatch to delivery.

Arrival Guarantee Policy
The Tropical Fish Company (TFC) guarantee live arrival on all orders that are delivered on their scheduled acceptance or delivery date. In the event that live animal shipments are lost or delayed by the carrier, we may not be able to offer any reimbursement.

Dead on Arrival (DOA) Policy
If your fish does not survive the journey or arrives in visibly poor condition, please contact us immediately.
To process a DOA claim, we require at least 3 clear photos and/or videos of the fish in its unopened bag, taken within 1 hour of arrival. These can be submitted through our contact us page or emailed to jordan@tropicalfishcompany.co.nz

TFC is not responsible for issues arising from incorrect customer-provided addresses or contact details.
Reimbursement is at TFC’s discretion and will be provided in the form of store credit, valid for 6 months from the date it is issued. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
